Ok, I just ate the hummus I bought yesterday - I got assulted by so much garlic, I don't know if I can talk to anyone here at work. I like garlic but - wow! Seriously needs to cut back to make this edible. I had some people at my office try it (not knowing it was raw) and they almost cried from the garlic. Needless to say - my garbage can had a very garlicly raw lunch! Please avoid

Oh wow - thanks for the info. I wonder why she serves desserts with honey then? But then again - Everything I've had from there so far hasn't had honey in it - so perhaps it is only certian items? The carob brownies didn't have it.... Maybe I'll ask next time I visit. Rachel

Elphaba, Sounds like you and I are at the same point (or nearly) in living the Raw lifestyle. I haven't yet bought a dehydrator but I just purchased a juicer and it's on it's way in the mail! Yay! I was thinking the same thing this weekend when I bought some raw foods from "Karyn's" in Chicago. So far the 2 things I've tried has been good but wow! Commercially made raw foods a

So it’s been 1 week since I really committed myself to eat a higher raw diet. This doesn’t mean I am any where near able to call myself a raw foodist but my percent of raw foods is gradually increasing as time goes on. Last Monday I weighed in at a whopping 146.5 lbs (I am 5’8) – the highest I’ve been in YEARS. Much to my delight – the lbs are just melting away. This morning I am

Hi Everyone, I was wondering how long it takes for your body to get used to eating more greens. I am not really eating all that much - I am starting gradually. Just a salad for lunch, but around 5 PM my tummy starts to hurt and I start having the obvious symptoms that come with fresh greens. I would rather not have to go to the beano.... how long did it take you to get used to it? He

I may be wrong but isn't the process for freezing veggies is first boiling them in really hot water but then freeze them? This way the veggies do not get soggy after defrosting them. If I cam correct - then I would say no. Please correct me if I am wrong!

Hi Everyone, I have a questions regarding portion sizes for nuts. I could probabaly eat a whole bag of nuts on my own. I have been buying raw cashews, almonds, pistaccios and brazillin nuts and they are such a tasty little treat. Really to make sure I don't over do it - how much is too much! Primarily my meanls have been fruits and veggies and I am using them as a snack. Please let

If we are going to talk about magazines, I know for a fact that they touch up all the photos of the models. The models don't even look that good! Have anyone seen the Tyra Banks show? Look at her almost 40 yo arms. Then look in the Victoria's secret magazines and look at her arms there.... Quite obvious that they retouch her photos....

This post has been so helpful for me! I am a new juicer so I have no background what so ever in juicing. I went on e-bay and found a bunch of Breville Juicers. I think I may put a bid on one of referbished ones.... any thoughts on that idea? They are going for $69 and $9.99 for shipping (or around that). Somewhat aprehensive to buy a used one but if they say it's referbished - I shou

Hi Everyone, I am interested in buying a juicer however am having trouble choosing the best one for my needs. I don't think I will be using the juicer for more than a glass a day but I would like to juice anything with ease. Could you suggest one that would be a good match? Also, as far as cost - I don't want a cheapy one that will break really fast but I don't think I will need expens

I just came back from Whole Foods and picked up an assortment of what was labeled "raw" nuts. Is whole foods a reputable sorce for raw nuts? By the way - they even had 2 books in their book section. I bet all of you have much better books to suggest to me? Rachel

Hi Everyone, I am interested in starting a raw lifestyle. I am a person who has battled with weight since I was 14 years old. I am now 26 and within the last 5 years I have gotten some control with my weight. I work out with a personal trainer and have maintained my weight at around 145 (5’8). The issues I am facing are that I seem to always crave terrible food, have no energy and my moo
