Oh my gosh! You went to a lot of work answering my post! Thank you so much! I'm going to print this and start experimenting with salad dressings!

From my very limited knowledge of the raw diet, I'm reading that juicing is not a bad thing -- that it helps us really pack in the nutrients from some veggies and fruits. That there is just no way we could get all the nutrients from drinking 12-24 ozs of juice as compared to trying to eat all the food in its natural state. I've also read that a really good way to get started in the morning is t

There is so much to learn! I can't believe all the info out there that I need to read to learn about eating raw. I'm excited about this journey though.

My answer is probably way too simplistic, so please forgive me in advance! I think that if we listen to our bodies and eat when we are hungry, eat slowly, and stop eating when we are no longer hungry, that would be the perfect amount of food to eat. Problem is that many of us (me included at times) eat for other reasons. I'm so excited to have started eating raw though. Its only been 4 days

Do most of you plan ahead of time what you are going to eat for the day to make sure you are getting the nutrients you want, the right amount of carbs, fat, protein, calories, etc., or do you reach a point with raw foods that if you listen to your body it lets you know what it is hungry for and you eat that?

I prefer a salad dressing that looks creamy. I'm new to raw and not 100% because I'm eating regular bottled salad dressing! Anyone have a good raw recipe they would like to share? The dressings that are mostly oil based just aren't my cup of tea -- I want something that is thick and creamy!

If you purchased it in the produce section and its still on the cob, I think its very likely that is is raw. I am eating some sweet corn cut off the cob in a salad today. Yum.

I am really new to eating raw. I'm reading as much as I can get my hands on. I've also purchased a few raw recipe books. I want to make this easy, but don't want it to feel boring. I'm going to try to add a couple of new recipes each week to my diet. I also want to make sure that I am getting the right amount of nutrients, etc. Would anyone who has been doing this for awhile care to share w

I woke up with a little bit of a sore throat today (4th day of raw for me). I figured it was a detox symptom I've been juicing a "green" drink every morning, but because of the sore throat I decided to juice 2 oranges, carrots and pineapple. Decided to try to get a bunch of Vitamin C. I use a Brita water filter -- I read the paperwork that came with it and it seems to filter out l

OK so after reading the responses to my "what is a Vegan" post, maybe I shouldn't eat the raw cheese! It was organic raw goat cheese -- I thought I was eating something healthy. Maybe not. Probably eat about 2 ozs a day. I've given up all meat. I thought I wanted to hold onto the cheese LOL

This is my 4th day of eating raw, and starting yesterday I began feeling flushed now and then. Is this a detox symptom or is something I'm eating too "hot" for my body? I'm not eating any hot spices, etc. Just fresh fruits, veggies (I am juicing some of them), soaked nuts, sprouted seeds, raw cheese, etc. I'd appreciate any opinions out there! Thanks.

I'm finding different definitions for Vegans. I converted to raw 3 days ago. I've decided to give up all meat. If I eat raw cheese, does that violate the rules for being a Vegan?

Hi Kristin. I'm very new to raw. This is my 3rd day, but I considered it for quite awhile before actually taking the plunge. I'm sorry that no one has replied to your post. I thought I'd say hi and ask you how its going for you!

About the side pains, are you sure you are breathing properly? I'm a runner. My running coach taught me, many years ago, that side pains are caused from not breathing properly. You need to relax and breath. Glad that your side pains have gone away though -- no matter what was causing them.

Thanks everyone for providing your opinions. I think I will read up some more about what what not to combine, etc. Today is my 3rd day and I started the day with juicing a head of romaine lettuce, 2 small cucumbers, 1 lemon, 2 kiwi fruits and 1 pear. Its really tasty! I'm trying to be 100% raw until dinner and then et myself have something cooked if I want to. Last nite I didn't feel as thou

On some days I will probably eat about 75% raw and eat some cooked fish. Not sure I will be 100% raw 100% of the time -- I don't want to set myself up to fail. Thanks for the reply.

I've only been eating raw for two days, but I started trying to educate myself about it for a couple of weeks before making the big change! I have purchased several books and trying to read them and reading articles on the internet. One thing I've noticed is that some authors suggest that you don't mix foods, while other authors spend no time talking about that. By mixing foods, I mean, for ex

This is my second day of eating about 90% raw foods. I am so excited. I am loving my juicer! There is so much to learn, and in the meantime I want to make sure that I'm getting enough protein. Any advice out there? I'm not a vegetarian, but I've decided to give up all red meat and pork. My 10% or so cooked food will probably be fish. Oh, I purchased some cheese made from raw goat's milk --
