What is your fat intake? Could it be too low? I was reading about how fat aids in digestion (I think I got that right).

I know and I haven't opened any yet. There is always that possibility however since it was a sale at two different chains, my feeling is that there is a glut for whatever reason.

My local grocery had young coconuts for one dollar each! This store wasn't even as steep as Whole Foods. I think this store normally charges about $2.79. Whole Foods used to charge $3.00 and then yanked up the price to about $4.99 for conventional. So last week they had them on sale for $2 a piece and I got two of them. But I should have known that if WF's charges $2 then the mainstream store wil

Tonight (no conscience influence from this OP) I was at Trader Joe's and bought a bag of heirloom navel oranges. If you ever seen them, you gotta try them! I have never been all that gung-ho about navel oranges but these are so flavorful. Not dry like navels can be. Delish.

Thanks for the info. I wonder why we never get some of those varieties in the Midwest. Specifically kafir lemons, oro blancos...

That sounds like anemia with the weakness and breathlessness. What about juicing? Maybe try getting in your nutrients that way: beets, carrots, maybe a base of celery and cuke for alkaline water, and parsley?

I get my avos from Aldi's all the time--best prices and great quality. Actually, although my store doesn't have lots of variety, it tends to be fairly good quality and yes, Walmart doesn't have really good prices and Whole Foods is ridiculous. I don't think people understand that all of WF's produce is NOT organic. I am there almost every day and I do buy produce there but am very selective.

LOL...Just teasing. Why wouldn't they? By the way, it doesn't have to be a beverage. It has been pointed out that EATING raw fruits and veggies is a way to consume organic water and that water is then no longer needed at the same issue. I think the real issue is whether or not plain water is indicated if you are eating lots of water-rich foods and drinking juices/smoothies throughout the day.

I am no expert but I think that you could just start with WHOLE foods, especially those that support your immune system and avoid foods that burden it. Dairy products burden the immune system, by the way. Have you read "The China Study" or seen "Forks Over Knives?" Raw foods are purifying but not as dense (except certain foods with high fat like avocados). Maybe you could

Hi! How did you find out about the raw vegan diet? Did you get any books so that you had some info before starting? If you were to eat cooked foods, why not root veggies and maybe brown rice? You don't have to either eat fruit or chicken. There is a vegan middleground that would probably be good for your condition. I am just curious how you came to this diet and what planning you did ahead

You can journal privately instead of on a forum. The point I was making is that you seem to be simply documenting your situation and not exchanging ideas with others and I was curious why that was. Yes, I agree that it is interesting to read what others are going through but I feel like you ignored a prior comment I made as well as that of another poster. Just pointing out that the whole idea of

My intention in posting this was to see if anyone has a link to more extensive info on the Braggs' background. Who is now running this huge corporation? Does she have kids? I didn't get that idea from Wikipedia that there were heirs. It stands to reason that there are shills/entities who wish to discredit alternative health "gurus" or businesses so even Wiki is suspect in that regard

Correction: in my original post, I stated that it was a vegetarian cookbook. Obviously it couldn't be as it contained meat recipes. I looked on Amazon and it's not there.

Wow, how interesting! This cookbook I referenced came out about 20 years ago (another edition) but the recipes seemed quite dated. I was just shocked at the extent of the various types of meat.

@Fresh: LMAO--WTF? It is so bizarre to me that someone can market something like a diet and be very dogmatic about it and then do a 180 and we are supposed to just go along with the program. Proof that to follow anyone's diet advice to the letter is probably pretty foolish since they can change on a dime.

I happened upon one of my many Braggs books this afternoon. I cannot recall the name exactly but it is a vegetarian recipe book. I was startled and puzzled to discover that this book has beef recipes and other meat dishes. Also egg yolks, etc. No yolk, folks! Why does this surprise me? In later books (the recipes in this one seem dated for various reasons) it would seem that the emphasis was m
