Threads can sometimes go very awry, Sue, and that's fine, but you are still on-topic with this one, so that's fine, too

Hello, Sue and welcome! It's amazing that you've had a healthier diet for such a long time! Well done to your family I agree that this is a dietary change issue, and that you may need to consume more fluids. Watermelon should help, as should juicing the rind, if you can get organic where you are. It helps to get fluids down if one doesn't quaff them in one go; sipping a large amount of

Joints not being devoured by acidic byproducts of animal tissue? I heard this mentioned as being the explanation on a vegan organization's video I watched on YouTube last week. Unfortunately, I've watched over a dozen since, from several different orgs, and can't recall which one it was

Mindy, You can make kefir with just water, I hear; haven't gotten around to ordering the kefir starter for this, yet, shame on me!

Interestingly, the study summaries do not indicate the type of salt used--table salt or other. Since switching to sea salt I find that my immune system works better and so do my adrenals, which are implicated in the funtcioning of the former. These studies always seem to not go far enough or to be insufficiently restricted.

Mindy, From personal experience, having had "symptoms" of candida a. overgrowth, and having tried the low glycemic candidiasis diet for a few months, and at another time, 80/10/10 with the same symptoms being present, I cannot recommend the former. It is my understanding, having had a cancer patient mother and knowing the prevalence of true candidiasis among those with cancer, that

Anna, hello, and no one here is going to hate you because of this post! How do you tolerate the food you presently eat? Do you have energy and general good health, with good digestion? I ask because if the four ingredients you list are all you are eating, it is an inadequate diet. I assume this is just a summary, and you aren't eating only meat, broccoli, spinach and oatmeal every day! A

Thanks for the warning, Panchito. I have been wondering when a one-stop "answer" to all gene related questions would be devised by someone. QuoteWith just three disposable chips and a few hours of time, that machine can make sense of the genome of a human being, identifying each of the 3 billion molecules that make up a person’s DNA. It's not that simple!

banana who, The Nutribullet works like a high speed blender except that it has a smaller volume, the blending cup is the inverted drinking cup and is thus slightly easier to clean than my Vitamix. Getting a Nutribullet would really be like getting another, smaller Vitamix--redundant if you already have a Vitamix or a Blendtec. But the siren call of Avocado Wolfe's louchey Toronto drawl

Agree with Paul. YouTube features video of lectures by Vesanto Melina and Brenda Davis, if you'd rather hear the data than read it. Good luck!

luvyuu, Yes: How are you feeling? Do you feel that your organs are starving of oxygen? What does this mean, even? How could you run 5 days a week if this is so? I find TCM confounding, I admit, but I would get a second opinion from someone that doesn't have expensive herbal protocols to sell you. Not to be cynical sounding, but . . .

If you feel OK, it's OK. You should keep track of your responses over time in case there's an adverse effect, IMO.

banana who, I always tell people I'm not anti-vaxx, but selectively anti-vaxx. There's a lot of bad science passing for good(as with this flu vaccine nonsense)and intelligent people--in their zeal to not appear "anti-science"--eat these scams hook, line and sinker. Ironically, in this way, that population further perpetuates run-around-and-panic anti-science activity that abets pol

Yes, nanners. The father of a student of mine mentioned a few days ago that he'd got his six-year-old's flu vaccination schedule mixed up, and I was like, "Eh, it takes two weeks to cause an antibody response and flu season's over," and he was like, "Yeah, and I think we've already all had the flu, so why bother?" And I thought, "It's a miracle! You've all had the flu

Keen, Hello, and welcome! I hear your complaint, and sympathize. There is so much information out there, and so much of it is controversial, that it is impossible to sort it out without subjectivity. And this is my point: do your best with whatever your body tells you. Select the raw plant foods that you know are good for you and that you like, and eat them to satisfaction--whether that's

singinraw, Sorry this has happened. If it's some sort of nerve damage, I'd say try whatever you can but feeding his brain would help a lot. If the family isn't opposed to it, maybe some kind of bodywork, like, at least, acupuncture? Otherwise, yeah, detoxifying poultices and moderate exercise--to get that area used to working again--should help. Wishing for the best for this young man.

Watching this video initially I thought, "Trouble in paradise, Matthew?" But upon further consideration I just think that Monarch, in his inimitable Monarchian way, is reminding the viewer that all raw can be very hard work and one must expect it to cause upheaval in one's life. I mean, look at the upheaval it caused his own life: He had to go into the web-order raw food biz(which is

I don't understand why they don't just sell syringes filled with caffeine and saline in the beverage aisle at the supermarket. It would be more honest. At least 5 Hour Energy has B vitamins in it

littlemisstwilight, How are you using the wheatgrass juice, and what kind is it? I would caution that symptoms like you are describing, if they are chronic, need to be verified by a doctor; it could be something serious. On the other hand, it could be food sensitivities or a reaction to a drug you are taking, or stress induced, etc. Maybe this is a recent temporary problem?

This has happened to me only after digestive crisis(in which case it's enzymatic) but more commonly when I haven't been chewing my food thoroughly--roughage doesn't go down without a fight! Fletcherize your greens and see if that helps, HH.

Hi, and welcome! I'd suggest just focusing on adding as many common raw products that are easily available and economical for a college student--like salad ingredients and seasonal fruits--to your diet gradually as you can. You probably have limited storage if you're in a dorm, or living in a rental with housemates, so sprouting seeds for greens, which can be done in a small space, is a reall
