These lectures, and some subsequent ones with Tony Wright that I have watched since you posted this, have been very thought-provoking, Panchito. Thanks so much for posting this. As they say, I think this guy is onto something

jalanutan, Sorry you are going through this, but if you look at what you've written, it is clear that the worst life has had to give you is behind you now, and that you have emerged from each difficulty with greater coping ability--something to focus on with positivity and confidence. You got through all that other trouble; you will get through this trouble, too. Remember: Time passes and t

veganjuice, Thank you. And yes, the bloodwork did show efficacy of the WW--it's been approved by the FDA for this use--and it does seem to help the metabolism generally, including helping aid sleep. I'm a skeptic about these things, usually, but I thought, hey, it's non toxic so it will only be a waste of money if it doesn't work. Lo and behold, it actually does what it's purported to do!

veganjuice, I have used the Willard Water from Nutrition Coalition for almost 8 years now, on and off. Drink about a half gallon of the mixed water every day, and do feel significantly better when I do as opposed to when I don't. I don't put it in tap water, only in reverse osmosis filtered, but it does make it taste good. My houseplants love it, and my late dog prefered it to regular water

Panchito, Supplemental L-carnitine is not processed by the alimentary system the way carnitine from animal products is. Dr. Greger mentions this in his latest appearance at the Veg Society of Hawai'i lectures. It's at about the 49-minute mark near the end of the video(the whole video is good, btw):

Panchito, I agree that the Other Topics forum has become rather a mess, but it is the right place for this kind of thing, as certain segments of our membership prefer to consider this and similar topics "controversial." Other Topics effectively contains "alternative perspectives" in a single location. I really don't want this board into Conspiracy Theory Auxilliary D

HH, Names, or it doesn't happen! Seriously, I cannot think of any raw foods women that aren't fairly au naturel in the way they present themselves: Angela, Shazzie, Dara, Tonya--they all look more or less their age, but far more vibrant and well-complected. Tavis Bradley's mother and sister have had a gourmet raw catering business on one of the Hawai'ian islands, so I'm assuming the family

Mindy, I agree with Paul Green beans have traditionally been eaten right off the vine in many cultures with no ill effects, so I consider them OK to eat raw. Dried beans must be rehydrated and at least partly sprouted for most people to be able to digest them. It really depends on what your particular system tells you it tolerates, although if not sure, Wiki individual plant foods to ma

If you're going to do massive amounts of dehydrating, it looks like a good deal. The warranty is impressive to me, but I'd want to know more about the operating life of this machine for that kind of investment. I never use my four tray Excalibur anymore, so it wasn't a big loss of funds, but this, I would feel compelled to use often. Maybe that's a good thing?

HH, I find that interesting, but also confounding, as a new canard gaining traction among that crowd is how agriculture--the being in togetherness of settling down in communities to farm crops--was a colossal social perversion that ushered in war and theft. The implication is that small paleo groups bringing down a large prey animal were somehow more pure in their cooperation, and more egalit

veganjuice, Risk/benefit assessment time. Had my wisdom teeth out in my late teens; I know my jaw would be really messed up if I hadn't and they'd decided to emerge. Wisdom teeth are vestigial bone masses that we don't need. The risk of problems later in life--to say nothing of the greater difficulty in healing and complications arising if the surgery is done in middle age--IMO outweigh the

banana who, QuoteWhat pisses me off about pumpkin seeds is that the price has skyrocketed. I recently learned that pumpkin seed powder, because of its high tryptophan content, is now being touted as an effective sleep aid. I suspect--though haven't checked--that Dr. Oz The Great and Powerful has mentioned this somewhere recently, and now, as with everything he recommends, there's a run on p

Slos, Coconut oil is antifungal and anti-parasitic, so it may be that you unwittingly medicated an underlying condition. On the other hand, who knows what it could have been, even coincidence. I had "typical" symptoms of candidiasis--no strict diagnosis--and when I started eating low fat/high raw carb, I felt better very soon after starting the regimen. I think it's important

Watched the video and think her assessment is fair: if you are an ethical vegan and eating correctly, you don't suddenly start eating steaks. There has been a great deal of controversy over Kristen Suzanne--a highraw vegan bodybuilder/chef--because of her rationalizing. It appears that her vegan diet was not healthy and she truly gave herself and her toddler deficiencies that were corrected by

Hi, elover66. Don't know specifically what your situation is--I'm pretty sure there are older threads on here dealing with this issue, maybe in Other Topics?--but eating a high raw vegan diet can help, as Hep C is dependent partly on cholesterol and heme iron levels in cells. Good luck, and hope you get some useful answers here

My hair is fine, like a child's, and currently extends to my upper back. After many, many trials of natural soaps, I have settled on Dr. Bronner's Shikakai Lemongrass Lime Hand and Body soap, every other day. It's simple and concentrated, it smells delicate, it cleans my hair without stripping it, and the container is recyclable, too.

Hello, and welcome, vaseadude! I agree that a sudden increase of fiber and healthy liquids may be causing temporary digestive issues. Unless you were eating a very healthy diet before, it will take your body time to adjust. Please browse older threads here to see if there's anything others may have experienced that could illuminate your situation for you. Good luck, and good healing
