Green smoothies just aren't agreeing with me anymore. They taste great, but make my ears feel like they are filling with fluid and make me really tired. My tried and true recipe was this: 1 1 inch ring pineapple 1 peeled whole orange 1 cup fresh squeezed oj half bunch of greens like dandelion 1 cup water I tried cutting back my oj to a half cup, but it still gives me the fluid filled

I ordered an ebook once from them and couldn't access it. Then I emailed them and they got back with me and sent the link, but it had gone to my SPAM folder. I was getting mad, when I finally checked that folder and found the email communication from them. Make sure you check your spam folder for emails from them. I really liked my ebook.

So glad to hear the coconut water is working for you! Young coconuts were used to give blood transfusions in some war ( I forget which one, but you can look it up), because it is sterile and almost identical to blood plasma. It is full of potassium and other electrolytes and many raw athletes use them as an electrolyte drink substitute. I hope you feel better soon. I am praying for you!

Yes, I would really prefer having an abundance of other simpler fruits and veggies. Money is an issue though. I agree that braggs isn't the best, but I was having that before PLUS cooked foods. I would think that even though some of my "raw" food choices aren't perfect, the fact that I'm not eating COOKED food is a big improvement, but why do I feel worse without cooked food? Which

Right now I'm eating lots of raw apple pie, with a crust of soaked pecans, walnuts, raw oat flour, raisins, and dates, and filling of (non-organic) local apples, and a little agave nectar and lemon juice and raisins. Soooo good. Also salads with raw flax oil, raw apple cider vinegar, and braggs liquid aminos. Also some guacamole and carrots, green smoothie (dandelion, raw oj, pineapple, orange

I had been eating mostly raw foods with some cooked food before determining to go 100 percent raw to get rid of these hemerrhoids I've developed, because its my last hope before surgery. I am feeling nauseous, dizzy, and weak. I thought it is either detox, or maybe the non-organic apples I am eating in abundance. If its detox, how long am I likely to keep experiencing these symptoms for? I'v

Young coconuts would be an excellent idea. Call your local store and have them order you a case. Have a friend or relative bring them in your home for you. They are full of natural electrolytes. I ordered cases of young coconuts every week when I was recovering from a large amount of blood loss after childbirth. Mine were not organic, but I still really benefited from them. They will provid

Try a juice of 1 zucchini, 1 beet, 3-4 stalks of celery, 1 medium-large apple. Tonya Zavasta drinks a veggie juice similar to this every day (I think she adds broccoli). Celery is her only source of sodium. This tastes pretty decent to me. I used to think that raw foodists who were against salt were just nay-sayers, until the day when my body randomly rejected Nama Shoyu. I used to LOVE

I need to adjust my recipe. My husband was wondering why my green smoothies weren't as tasty as they used to be and I think I forgot it used to be TWO one-inch slices of pineapple, not just one. Tastes much better that way.

Congrats! How exciting to find out what you did! You're 60??? Wow, you look great! "I do have a sneaking suspicion we have some sort of memory stored in our DNA about our parents, even if we were taken from them." I have heard this too. It's like all the cases where people get organ transplants and start to take on characteristics of the person they got the organ from. There m

I am about to start my labs on a raw vegan diet again. I will be supplementing with raw organic chicken backs, for their teeth. I will carefully observe how this diet affects them and adjust accordingly. I have done an all raw meat diet for them before, and their health was not great. Raw vegan showed a lot of promise (fresh breath, good color--but I did not try it for long). Fruit Faery,

What type of greens are you using in your smoothies? We started using lambsquarters in our smoothies and my husband and felt extremely ill...perhaps something in the soil--I hear lambsquarters can draw high quantities of nitrates out of the soil. Also, for some reason, swiss chard gives me a headache. I would also really follow on the trail that Omega started for you.

There are some other types of smoothies you can add to your repertoire, that are nut milk based. I don't know if you know how to make nut milk, but here's one I do. 1 1/2 cup walnuts (soak them overnight first, then rinse well after) 4 cups water Agave to taste Blend and then strain through a nutmilk bag. You can get those from www.naturalzing.com. Store the milk in a mason jar in the

The agave nectar I use specifically says that it is processed in temps under 118 degrees F on the back. I have also heard people says raw agave isn't really raw, but I thought they were talking about the other brands that don't specify the processing temps. Most dried fruit is also dried closer to 200 degrees F ...I wonder if dried dates are too?

Pineapple and apple combine "okay" together as far as food combining goes. Pineapple and citrus fruits are in the "Acid Fruits" Category, Sub-Acid Fruits include apples, apricots, pears, and mangoes, and Sweet Fruits include Bananas, papayas, dates, figs. It's best to eat fruit from one category alone, but Acid and Sub-Acid fruits are okay (not great, but okay) and Sub Acid

Alive in Five by Angela Elliot is a great book and it isn't very expensive. The meals are supposed to be able to be prepared in five minutes or less, and are very tasty. The best upper is really eating as pure as you can. The hard thing is getting there! Especially when you are very busy and often stressed. Once you get to a healthier state, Tonya Zavasta says you will likely need less sle

my recipe: 1 cup fresh squeezed OJ* 1 one-inch ring of fresh pineapple (peeled, but use the center of the pineapple too) 1 orange (peeled and seeded) 2 large or three medium leaves of Kale (or more--to your tolerance) Agave to taste (good for countering sourness) Between 2/3 to 1 cup cold water or ice (*or use Just Pik'd brand. It's in the freezer in health food stores, in 1 liter c

I made the "rawtess cupcakes" from rawdorable. They are really good, but I made a few modifications. On the page for her recipe, look at the comments (you have to select "most recent" not most popular) you can see my post with what I changed (from "musicbebe". I also used all walnut pulp instead of nut flour, and walnut milk instead of coconut milk. The whipped to

Maybe we'll see better B12 absorption in the children of those who ate very healthy in pregnancy, and fed their kids right from birth. Maybe most people have problems absorbing it because their bodies didn't form right due to poor nutrition in the womb and through infancy and childhood.

A question for those who have been raw for sometime, and eat simply (and really anyone else who cares to chime in): I've noticed that since eating more fresh raw foods (less gourmet stuff), that whenever I eat something "bad" like cooked food, or something with a lot of salt, my tonsils feel sore right afterwards. It goes away after a little while, but I can always count on them to

Religion is a very intimate part of who people are...often way more so than a person's political beliefs. Not being able to share that part of oneself would unnecessarily stifle conversation. Having taken part in religious discussions on this board in the past, they were always very respectful...not nearly as divisive as politics.

Susan, Sorry it took so long for someone to finally respond! I saw this thread when it first came out and thought, "well, someone else will probably answer it." Well, I guess that someone is me! Raw food diets are incredible. I wrote a research paper on it for college. I was pressed for time when I wrote it, so it's not as thorough as I wished it could've been, but I got an A
