Seriously, Prana. You expel someone for talking about cooked food, but allow and even particpate in the neo-Nazi cult threads. Sick. It's OK to regularly spew venom toward individuals on this board; support genocide; repeatedly violate the no politics, no religion rules; make unfounded pseudo-scientifc claims; and berate and demand explusion for anyone who questions what you've said even rem

Yes, looking at the list of the ingredients, I thought that this was probably best for those with porcelain skin. I'm rather tan, and figured it would take some time to get the color right. But, I have trouble getting the color right with commercial make up, too. I liked the suggestion of adding some coconut oil to make a cream foundation. I used to love the pancake style creams, but they'v

The post went into great detail about pricing and suppliers, but I didn't see a recipe. Did I miss it? I don't have a favorite make-up to copy, and I can't imagine that everything listed is needed to get a nice blend.

So, there isn't an actual home-spun formula that someone has already worked out? They're just suggesting that you look at the back of your favorite makeup and try to hunt down the listed ingredients and guess at the quantities and whatever unlisted ingredients might be included?

I love the lectures ]The Vegetarian Society of Hawaii posts. Personally, I find Dr. Harris informative, but if you like a bit more dynamism, you might try Dr. Greger, WheatgrassYogi. He lectures on current studies, but does it in a 'quiz show' format and uses some mild humor to keep his lectures interesting.

Jeremy, I'm sorry you lost someone so dear to you. It must be very painful, but I'm glad that you were there for her in her life as well as her final moments. My heart goes out to you and your family.

I definitely read the title as a play on hollow grammar Nazi, and couldn't figure out the connection in the poem.

I usually soak my fruits and veg in filtered water in a large bowl or tub for a minute or two with gentle agitation. Sometimes I add a drop of Dr. Bronner's soap to store bought items. I use salt water for home grown. Dr. Greger says recent research shows that washing is ineffective for ridding pesticides, but peeling is more effective . But, I don't know. I've definitely seen pesticide w

I dunno. Maybe you are just trying to illustrate my point that some people can't separate eating plants from political, moral, ethical or religious beliefs, Kidraw? It's a shame because the thing that unites the members of boards like these and vegetarianism general is the eating plants (or raw plants) part, which is fairly benign in itself and tends to spur more amiable and productive discu

QuoteTam Maybe the people at PETA are irony-proof Lol, Tam. I already think so after the reports came out that they killed most of the animals in their care, as well as the recent ad campaign that urges people to stop objectifying animals and start objectifying women.

Animal rights group PETA to launch bizarre porn website.. that will also show animal mistreatment By Hannah Roberts Their racy campaigns featuring nude celebrities and unsubtle innuendos, have already raised eyebrows. Now, animal rights group PETA has gone a step further into the world of adult entertainment-by announcing it is to launch its own porn website. The bizarre site will ai

Trive, that's the cutest story! Such great whimsy. I second the cat as a great way to get rid of mice. We moved into a house that the previous owners had been trying to get rid of a mouse for 6 months with traps and poisons. When we moved in we threw out all of the traps and poison and got a cat from the shelter. She caught the mouse the second day we had her. Vermontnl's other suggestio

Bananawho, I thought from the title of the thread you were going to say you found some glass smoothie blenders since you've been posting about blenders for ages. Instead, you talk about finding Pyrex measuring cups in the opening sentence and wonder why people are commenting on Pyrex.

You fooled me. I thought you were going to recommend some good glass blender carafes. I love Pyrex. Good, useful products and still made in the US.

It was good and worth seeing, but could have been better. One of the things that I really liked about the documentary was that more emphasis was put on all the good that switching to a vegan or near vegan diet can do rather than all of the harm that eating animal products can do. It really highlighted how in just a few weeks people could not just potentially, but very probably, see dramatic chan

Vinny, Harley is being facetious. He always preaches that you can't eat too much sugary fruit. He certainly doesn't believe in 1 mango meals or crystal healing as a means to better diet.

YW, jono. I'm glad you could take advantage of it. Haha, la_veronique. I spent hours making all that pet food! I couldn't stand to throw it away. So, I didn't go get more, but I'm happily munching away on what I did get. Mmmmmm!

Yes, completely cutting out vegetables is not a good idea. They tend to be richer in minerals than fruits and round out your nutrient balance. You don't have to eat raw vegetable salads if you can get your head or two of greens plus some other veg in another way, such as: green smoothies, lettuce (or leafy green) wraps, faux pastas with veggie strips as noodles, veggie dips with greens mixed

They're finally here! Every spring I get so anxious for strawberry gorging season to start and it's here! Organic strawberries are on sale today only (Friday, April 29) for $1.99/lb at Whole Foods. I picked up 12 lbs. I wish I could get more, but I'm home alone this weekend and my freezer will only hold a couple of pounds since it's already full of pet food. Despite this, I'm still tempted to
