Hi, I have really struggled lately. Something I have missed that is totally bad is an almond based cookie that you dip in coffee. Said it was bad. I came up with this. 2 cups almond flour (left over dehydrated meal from almond milk, spun through the food processor) 3/4 cup sunflower seeds 1/4 cup chia seeds 1/4 cup cacao nibs 1/2 cup agave syrup 1 heaping tbl coconut oil which proba

This is a great thread. I have learned some things, and had a good laugh as well. I,too am one of those people who started this fat and stayed fat for months. Then I read something David Wolfe wrote about metabolic syndrome. I believe that is what I had. It is basically a dead metabolism due to years of bad food, overeating, and no exercise. Finally, this past week, I am happy to say that I

I made them and didn't care for the sweet taste of the sweet corn which seemed to intensify in the dried chip. We are in the middle of NJ farm land, so there must be a place to get field corn around here.

The dehydrator is, as said already, perfect for breads and crackers, which I like having. They keep me on the right track. I also love the kale chips, cauliflower popcorn, buckwheat grouts done as 'crispies', and dried mushrooms and peas. I am an eater, and having the extra goodies helps me to stay on the program. the expense is worth it. I would not be able to do this if I had to eat nothin

You are right, she adds two of her bars to make the cereal bars. I have several Raw Revolution bars that I am going to use; I ate too many of them and now the thought of eating them as is is rather sickening. I've got the groats and the other stuff so just have to assemble them.

I wish I had a larger dehydrator now! Four trays of this recipe can be eaten by one hungry woman in an hour or less.

After mmmveg recommended Sweet Gratitude, which I bought, my search for the unusual ingredients started. I bought the irish moss but it is flaked and now I read in the book that whole moss is the best, the flaked gives a strong fish smell to the dessert! I think I 'll try soaking and blending the flakes and see how fishy it is before I go and buy more. I read that it is good for digestive issu

There is a chair that has a fitness ball built into it.... As it says in the Bible, "all parts of the body are important', but you never really appreciate that until you've had rear end problems.

Thank you all so much! Its just two weeks now, I am off percocet and we walked around Cosco last night for a whole hour, me with my handsome husband and my walker. I did feel a little old ladyish. Oh well. They have some phenomenal fruit there right now, giant cherries that are like eating small plums, local blueberries for us here in NJ, and other berries. I have had a few slips in the

HI, so I had the hip replacement on Tuesday and was back home by Thursday! I stay up in room for a few days because I'm only supposed to do stairs once a day and there isn't anything fun down there. I didn't have any trouble staying on the diet while in the hospital. A friend brought me a bag of cut up fruit and I have been subsisting on that. I lost 800 cc's of blood in the OR, but my he

Tomorrow is my hip replacement; I opted out of going to inpatient rehab because of the food situation! I will be fine for three days post op with fruit and veggies that my husband will bring for me; but in rehab, I wonder what the nutritionist has in mind? When I went for my first, although I requested a vegetarian tray, what I got was wonder bread with margarine and mac and cheese. I wasn't a

Yes, only six! Last night I had a bag for dinner, but I did put avocado in it because it was getting soft....also garlic, ginger, cucumber, carrots and the same old sesame oil and Braggs aminos. I ate the whole thing.

I'm not familiar with Sea Spaghetti; the sea kelp is crispy, or not really cripsy, sort of crunchy in a rubbery way, and looks like cellophane noodles. It doesn't taste like anything, not fishy or sea weedy. I read on the forum that if you soak them for thirty minutes they are easier to eat and we found that to be true. What is Sea Spaghetti like?

Hi, my case of Kelp arrived and they are delish! I searched but didn't find many recipes here for them, outside of the Asian sort of dish, which is really good. Does anyone have any other ideas for how they can be used? I love that the preparation is so simple, just throw them in some water and they are ready to go. I put carrots and cucumber slivers, a little garlic and ginger and some Bragg

Hang in there, Richard. There is nothing like a healthy diet of natural raw fruits and vegetables to help us on the road to recovery. Hope you feel much better soon. Make sure you take your meds as prescribed by your doctor.

After living raw for almost three months, I am finally seeing some results. Everything I was told on this group has proved to be true so I am so glad I followed your advice and didn't give up. When I first began, I knew I was eating too much at night, too many nuts, too much fat, etc, but I was coming out of years of bad habits. Everyone said that in time, my body would make the adjustment

HI, after I read this thread I ran to the health food store to get Maca. They only had caps, so I bought them. The directions said to take one three times a day with meals. After I took the second cap, I felt like I had taken a hit of speed. (I'm from the 70's...). I also found I was biting my tongue a lot due to bitchiness. It took me a couple of hours to fall asleep and I was beat the next

HI, Congratulations. I have found that it is ok to crave anything, just fix yourself a salad or eat some fruit or have a rich treat that is raw and you will work through it. Something that has worked for me is to go to a raw cafe or Whole Foods raw area and buy something already prepared. It feels like a treat and I don't feel like I am denying myself. I didn't lose any weight at first beca
