It's hard breaking with tradition. Especially between father and daughter. I'm sure the break in your tradition was hard for both of you.

I have to say, though, that two avocados don't sound like they'd make very much pudding. I'd be afraid to make more, though, due to the fat content of the avocados.

Got it. Thanks for the replies. I knew the cocoa powder was cooked, which is why I didn't buy that instead. How about the cacao butter? Is that safe to order online? Is it refrigerated? ETA: Is the cacao butter PURE cacao or is there coconut in it?

Is it odd for a local co-op and a Whole Foods to NOT carry Cacao Powder or Cacao Butter? Or was I mistaken that I would easily find these items there? They kept trying to give me cocoa powder! They did have one version of cacao butter but it had coconut oil in it. I have a friend coming over for a raw meal and she loves chocolate pudding. I was hoping to make it for her, but...

I seem to recall Greg Brady mentioning the mesquite powder. That one kind of threw me. Thank you, Rob. With all the talk on cooked and processed foods being dead, I needed some confirmation that dried herbs and "superfoods" still retain any nutrition. I've been to your site several times and thoroughly enjoy it. Thanks for the information! (Both here and on your site!)

On the website www.thedailygreen.com, I just read the following: QuoteDon't wash your produce until just before preparing or serving. If it needs a good scrubbing with a vegetable brush, go for it. This will remove most of the dirt, insects, bacteria and some pesticide residue. When washing your produce, do so with clean, cold water. There's no need to use veggie cleaners. Clean cold wa

Dr Christopher has been using dried powders in capsules successfully for healing, but I still believe they would work even better after presoaking. Greenpower How do you presoak a powder? Pour j

I guess thats a bias. Yes, fresh is best but you couldn't find or eat (fresh or raw) the things this guy is putting into his smoothies. And I highly

I'm making a raw meal for a friend who wants to try a raw meal. She loves chocolate pudding and chocolate custards and I'd like to make this for her, for dessert, as a surprise. Are there any tried and true recipes for this? Since she loves chocolate, I'm hoping to find one that's really chocolatey and creamy.

That's what I'm wondering, veggiefreak. There has to be a homemade solution out there instead of having to buy those spendy, pre-bottled alternatives!

I've only been raw for a day but I can already tell my body is asking for me to mono-eat right now. It's funny because part of me still doesn't really grasp how a person who mono-eats gets all of their nutrition. But, I do know how to listen to my body, so I'm giving it what it wants. I made a soup yesterday and my body didn't take to it well. Since then, I've been mono-eating and feeling muc

I have a 20-something piece cookware set from Wolfgang Puck that I'm very partial to. It's amazing cookware. The problem is, I DON'T cook anymore! I'm having a harder time parting with my pots-n-pans than I am the food I cooked in them!

Does anyone who is 90-100% raw still have their pots and pans? I'm going through my kitchen, getting rid of items I don't need anymore. I can't imagine needing my pots and pans for anything. What kitchen items do those of you who are all raw keep around? Thank you.

I went raw as of today. I bought about $88 in groceries that should last me the week. This was from my regular grocery store with, unfortunately, only about 25% of it being organic. (I figured for the first raw week, it will do.) I noticed I bought a lot of raw nuts, which is funny because I've never eaten a lot of nuts in the past. I think I had the nut milks in mind when buying them, t

I was browsing around YouTube and came across this guy making superfood smoothies. I've never heard of half of these ingredients before and everything was in dried, powder form. Aren't a lot of the nutrients in the liquids? Can foods/herbs dried down to powder form still contain viable nutrients so as to make this a real "superfood smoothie?"

Jose, you haven't given a single fact in anything you've said. It's all opinion and something that you've taken by faith. You are taking something written by a modern day man by faith. It hasn't stood the test of time yet. Yet, Christians place their faith in Someone who has stood the test of time. You ask if we've read your book and watched your video on one man's opinions. Have you re

My emotional sensitivity increased when I stopped watching television. After about 18 months (of brain-washing wearing off), I started to actually feel again and news stories like the one you mentioned get to me. I think about the families, etc., I honestly don't know if I need that to be heightened even more when I go raw tomorrow. Personally, EZ rider, I think it makes you a better hu

Very cool brenna! Being a nature, woodland person myself, I love homes like that. Living in downtown Minneapolis (and working in Corporate America) is so soul-killing. One more year. Just one more year. Then the whole world is an open door to me and I can live anywhere I want. I'm researching even now where to find a place that is great for self-sustainable living.
