OK, firstly I want to say - awesome idea! Giving kids nutritional info for life is wonderful. It should be a compulsory subject in schools. With students I've taught, there is no way they'd be interested in researching something voluntarily in their own time. I would focus on making it fun. Great idea to show them the whole plant - could you plant your own as a group? Could you (or would

i don't think combining fruit with your veggies is a good idea. However, I think a variety or fruit and veggies is a good idea.

mmmmm, could be either. Your mango info is interesting. I was thinking too that it could be the cherry tomatoes she's been eating of the bushes in the veggie garden.

My daughter has developed a red irritation under her bottom lip and chin. She now hates me washing her mouth. She is 2. This has appeared since trying to get her to eat more raw foods. Could it be from fruit? Maybe from having juice from eating fruit sitting on her skin for too long before I've washed it? What do you think?

I think I pay approximately $400 a week for my family of 3 on high raw it's a worry. I only get organic grains, nuts, seeds, greens, berries, peaches and apples where possible. I also will buy local if I can get it. I also get biodynamic yoghurt and buy the majority of my water (fiji water) which is expensive. I'll get non-organic fruits with thick skins such as pinapple, passionfruit, ban

there are a lot of signs / syptoms. Too many for me to write. Perhaps the most common are headaches, tiredness, mucous, cold / flu, negative thoughts / emotions & mouth ulcers. I have been raw for 3.5 months and I've only experienced very mild detox symptoms so far: 2 headaches and a bit of mucous down the back of my nose. None of these lasted long or were very severe.

hardest things for me are: 1. that i feel i put pressure on my overweight / unhealthy friends and make them feel intimidated by what i am eating (eg my raw salad vs their BBQ suasages and white bread) and also that I feel superior, I guess that's the best word, like my salad IS superior to their choice of food. This doesn't help friendships, both in the way I feel and the way they feel. Others

chia seeds have 3 times more iron than spinach. Green leafy vegies, wholegrains, buckwheat, onions, garlic, wheatgerm, seame seeds, soya beans, figs, raisins, dates, prunes, apricots, apple and avocado contain iron.

without getting into the ethical debate, I believe biodynamic yoghurt and additive free cheeses in wax are good for you as they are partly digested by the cultures. Especially good if they are made from raw milk. As I said, this is my health persepctive, without regarding ethical considerations.

I understand that they are considered raw as fresh fruit is also 'sun-ripened'.
