I use raw oat groats... you can have them as is, or soak them with different things for flavorings and even food process to make more like porridge. I often just have the oats as is, with a little stevia for sweetening and with almond milk (super easy to make by blending water, almond butter and your sweetener of choice (agave, maple syrup, stevia, and vanilla if you like).

I take O-mega-zen-3... It's a vegan source in a vegan capsule. I'm pregnant and omega 3 is vital for the babies development. This was the only vegan source I could find to ensure I would be getting adequate Omega 3.

Thanks for sharing the good and the bad of your birthing experiences ladies! I am pregnant with my first now, and due in about 3 months. I wanted a home water birth with a midwife, but there were literally NO midwifes available!! Instead I have found a natural childbirth center about 45 min drive from where I live, I am out in the country as it is, 20mins from the closest hospital. At this birth

I've got tons of Canadian favorites if anyone is interested. If I only bought local food I couldn't be raw vegan... I'd be eating wheat and cow products, that's all there is that's local for 8 months of the year up here!

I have Matt's book and have a few favorite recipes in there - love the Cauliflower Couscous. I ate at his restaurant twice in Santa Monica and wasn't very impressed... the bread tasted burnt, everything was too salty (I always cut the salt in half when making his recipes).

Hi Artbyrat, I live in Alberta, Canada. Our province is none as beef country. There are cows being raised for slaughter all around me (I live in a small town)... I don't see eye to eye with many family and friends on veganism, raw veganism, animal ethics etc. I've learned not to preach or push things that closes people off. I just lead through be a shinning example. I answer questions,

If you took many years to need less food, to stop eating raw recipes, to stop eating lots of fruit, etc.... than don't you think others may need time to? Telling people what works for you now, when you have evolved, and chemically change to become where you are today is all fine and good. But you have to understand that other people may not be at the same place, chemically, physically, even d

Where I live (fairly far North) in Canada, there is 8 hours of daylight in the winter. I would only be able to eat between 8:30am and 12:30pm (the sun sets at 4:30pm)... Plus I'm pregnant, I need to eat more than twice a day!! To each his own!

I actually lost significant weight following my own veggie version of Atkins. At what cost though? I never felt healthy while on Atkins, despite the weight loss. Raw feels good for your body, mind and spirit. On raw I never had much weight to lose, but it's not hard to maintain weight while nourishing my body with the best foods ever and indulging on lots of raw treats!

I find it easiest to stay raw and enjoy myself by including these and other questionably raw ingredients. I don't want my life to be about a constant strive for better health and perfection, I've gone that road in raw food and I'm much happier with a less strict stance on things. In my opinion including nutritional yeast and maple syrup (on rare occasions) makes it easier for me to stay raw over

I've been raw for 2.5years, early pregnancy and raw food aversions had me eating some cooked foods. As soon as I entered my second trimester I came back raw full swing. I didn't experience any detox symptoms, well maybe an extra couple hours of sleep the first day or two... that's it. Did you have trouble digesting fats before eating raw food? The reason I ask is I developed trouble digesting
